Children of pre-primary age, i.e. 6-year-olds, participate in the municipality-organised free pre-primary education. In Vaasa, pre-primary education is provided in daycare centres. Children receive four hours of pre-primary education per day.
Early Childhood Education and Care, pre-primary education and basic education form a coherent continuum in terms of a child’s development and learning and provide the foundation for lifelong learning. Play in its various forms is strongly present in pre-primary education activities.
