Welcome to Purola!
At Purola, we are delighted to be a part of your child’s early years and your family’s everyday life. Children and their interests are at the heart of everything we do, which is why our activities are adapted to the current interests of each group of children while supporting different areas of learning.
Our core values are child-centeredness, genuine encounters, an unhurried atmosphere, and the creation of a safe everyday environment. A secure daily routine forms the foundation for all learning, and upon that foundation we build a house of friendship, learning, joy, and discovery. A house where children learn through play and togetherness. A house with a strong sense of community. A house where we spend time and work together. A house where a positive atmosphere prevails. A house where warmth is reflected in the way children and families are welcomed and treated.
Our learning environment extends far beyond the indoor and outdoor areas of the daycare centre. We are fortunate to have wonderful opportunities for learning in nature and enjoying all that nature has to offer. Nearby parks and the Edvininpolku forest area are located just behind our daycare centre, and they are used regularly and in many different ways as part of our activities. In the local area, we go skiing, cycling, sledding, berry picking, running, and playing. Most importantly, we enjoy spending time in nature and strengthening our connection with it.

Our work is guided by the City of Vaasa’s early childhood education and pre-primary education curricula, as well as the core values of early childhood education. In our daily activities, we emphasize play, interaction, participation, equality, cultural diversity and language awareness. At the heart of our work is a child who learns and thrives, and we value every child as a unique individual.
We make versatile use of our local surroundings, including nature, parks and cultural sites. Nature and a sustainable lifestyle are a natural part of our everyday activities. Together, we learn to care for the environment, appreciate nature and make small everyday choices that support a sustainable future, such as recycling and conserving natural resources.
We consider open and trusting cooperation with guardians to be highly important, as together we support each child’s overall well-being, development and growth into a responsible member of society.

Every child is unique to us: we meet children with sensitivity, listen to their thoughts, and respond to their initiatives with genuine presence. Our everyday life is filled with joy, encouragement, and doing things together. Positive pedagogy is reflected in praise, encouragement, and support for concentration.
Our goal is simple yet important: a warm encounter and a good day for every child. Our activities are based on linguistic awareness and appreciation of diversity. We recognize different languages, cultures, needs, and ways of being, and we create an environment where everyone is seen, heard, and understood.
In our activities, movement is a central part of learning and well-being. We explore nature and the built environment in diverse ways – forests, shores, parks, and sports facilities provide experiences and the joy of learning throughout the year.
Rödluvan daycare is a warm, bilingual daycare with extended hours, where everyday life is built around the needs of children and families. We provide early childhood education flexibly also in the evenings, nights, and weekends. To ensure the child’s overall well-being, we emphasize close cooperation with guardians.
