Fees for early childhood education and care

If the family has more than six persons, the income limit is increased by €295 for each additional minor child. 

Maximum and minimum fees

Maximum fee for full-time Early Childhood Education and Care: €335/month. No fee is charged if the amount is below €32.

Sibling discount

The youngest child in Early Childhood Education and Care is considered the family’s first child. The fee for the next child: up to 40% of the first child’s fee (max €124). Other children: 20% of the first child’s fee.

The guardian must reserve hours in Edlevo one week in advance. Agreed hours cannot be exceeded.

Pre-primary education under the Basic Education Act (4 h/day) is free. If the child needs Early Childhood Education and Care in addition to pre-primary education, the fee in the table below is charged. 

Children only in pre-primary education who need care during holiday periods are charged a temporary care fee (€25/day). The normal client fee is charged for the summer period.

The fee decision is always based on an income statement. Incomplete information is not corrected retrospectively. 

If the family’s income information or other circumstances change, the fee decision can be changed no earlier than from the beginning of the month in which the income information or other sufficient documentation was submitted.

If the child’s Early Childhood Education and Care service need changes, submit an application in Edlevo in advance before the desired start date.

If Edlevo is not in use, make a free-form written application and deliver it to the daycare director or the family daycare supervisor.

A new service need is always confirmed for a period of at least five months at a time.
The client fee changes from the beginning of the following month, and a new fee decision is always made for the change.

Service needs may change, for example, due to changes in employment, studies or family situation.

Vacation does not reduce the fee. 

• Illness 11 days / calendar month → half of the fee
• Illness for the entire calendar month → no fee is charged
• Other reason for the entire calendar month → half of the fee
• One attendance day → full monthly fee

Summer

• July is free if the child has started Early Childhood Education and Care by 31 Aug at the latest.
• Absence for the entire summer–July period → two free months
• Absence 1–15 Aug → August fee credit for 11 days
• Free periods are valid if guardians report holiday absences in Edlevo or by written agreement. The notification is binding, and agreements made after the deadline are not taken into account. If the child attends Early Childhood Education and Care during the agreed absence, the agreement lapses. 

Christmas

• If the child is absent for the entire Christmas and/or January period, the fee is halved. Therefore, compensation under this agreement cannot be obtained for that holiday period.
• Children only in pre-primary education pay a separate fee for care days during the holiday period

You can apply for a discretionary fee reduction based on the family’s financial situation. 

The application with attachments should be submitted to the Service Manager of Early Childhood Education and Care.
