On this page you will find information about the City of Vaasa’s cooperation with associations, support offered to associations, the development of activities and who you can contact.
Cooperation with the city can include, for example, organising joint events and other network collaboration. An important network actor between associations and the City of Vaasa is Pohjanmaan yhdistykset ry (POHY) (external link), which maintains, among other things, the organisations’ advisory board as well as a peer support network and its steering group.
We offer associations advice and information sessions, particularly on matters related to grants. In addition, associations can use materials that support event organisation, and association actors can, if necessary, receive technical help in using electronic services from the joint service points (includes link) and can make use of the city’s digital support points (includes link).

The City of Vaasa organises an associations’ evening regularly once or twice a year in cooperation with POHY. The aim of the associations’ evenings is, in addition to exchanging information, the joint development of activities. Representatives of associations are also invited to the city’s service development forums. The partnership model is also an important means of co-development.
