The amendment to the detailed plan for the Smart Technology Hub is legally valid. The detailed plan amendment creates the conditions for developing the area into an industrial and commercial premises area suited to the needs of the technology cluster.
The detailed plan takes into account the area’s traffic changes and the need for parking, measures related to major accident risks, as well as the preservation and protection of the operational conditions of the surrounding area, residential amenity and the nationally valuable cultural environment. Wärtsilä’s research, product development and production centre (Sustainable Technology Hub) relocated from the city centre to the planning area in 2022.
