At Öjberget Winter Sports Centre you can ski downhill, cross-country ski and enjoy outdoor recreation year-round. The area is suitable for both active sports enthusiasts and families.
The ski centre area has three large downhill slopes and a children’s slope with a free conveyor lift. The youngest family members also have a practice track and a sledding hill. You can take a break at the grill hut or visit the ski lodge, where Vaasa Ski Club operates a café.
In summer Öjberget offers good opportunities for outdoor exercise. For example, you can climb the slope using the fitness stairs or follow the nature trail that runs through varied terrain.

Lift closure due to strong winds or cold temperatures
In strong winds the lift sometimes has to be closed for safety reasons. In practice this happens once wind speeds exceed 16 m/s. Even then, wind direction is a decisive factor.
In addition, in severe cold (below -20 °C) the lift may need to be closed for safety reasons.

- Children of preschool age may ski for free when accompanied by a parent. Helmet is mandatory.
- The children’s slope conveyor lift is free of charge.
Lift tickets are sold on site at Öjberget from the ticket machine in the café building. The café run by Vaasa Ski Club no longer sells lift tickets. Currently card payment only.
New Snowcard cards can be purchased in advance from the Vaasa Swimming Hall ticket office. Only physical cards can be bought at the swimming hall; you cannot load lift tickets onto the card there. Snowcard cards are sold during the swimming hall’s opening hours.
When buying a lift ticket for the first time, the purchaser redeems a rechargeable lift card (price €6.00), onto which additional time can be loaded.
Lift cards are non-refundable. Normal wear and tear is not compensated. The purchaser is responsible for the card and the time loaded onto it.
Customers with a disability card marked with an A or a companion card (by showing the card) can have their assistant obtain a free lift card on site from the lift kiosk. In other words, only the customer pays.

Grill hut

Öjberget Nature Trail is located in Sundom, 9 kilometres from Vaasa city centre. The trail is 2.5 km long and starts at the large information board in the Öjberget stadium area. The route has 12 stations where the area’s nature and history are described in words and pictures.
From the top of the downhill slope you can safely descend via the fitness stairs to the stadium area, where the grill hut can be used year-round.
