A building permit must be applied in accordance with Section 42 of the Building Act. The permit should be applied for well in advance of starting the buidling project or renovation project.
The permit is usually processed within 2–4 weeks after all required documents and reports have been submitted to Building Control. A building permit is valid for five years, and construction must be started within three years after the permit has been granted.
Fees for building and other permits are charged according to the current price list. A separate fee is charged for processing paper applications.
Building must comply with applicable legislation, building regulations and decrees, the local detailed plan and the building ordinance.
